Facial expressions and emotions are the themes in this exhibition of self-portraits created by pupils from two local special schools: Fox Hollies and Dame Ellen Pinsent. Inspired by André Derain’s Portrait of Bartolomeo Savona, as well as other paintings from the permanent collection, the children worked with artist Lizzy Bean to produce their own masterpieces using a variety of media. The exhibition is the outcome of a project funded by the Eridge Trust, a charity whose purpose is to encourage young people to enjoy and appreciate the visual arts.
